Patient Rights, Patient Responsibilities and Privacy

As we all know, health services are uncompromissable due to it's vital significance. Özel Öz İstanbul Medical Center believes that; any individual regardless of his racial, religious, age, gender, social, physical, mental or spiritual conditions, has rights which are to be esteemed. As we respect to these rights, individuals become peaceful and healthy. Thus, people spread this circumstance to his environment and we create a peaceful habitat.

The Rights of Patients and Patient Relatives

The Right to Utilize From the Services:

• Any patient that applied to our institute, has the right to benefit from any service regardless of his idealogy and social properties

• Our patients have the right to choose his medical institute and doctor, and has the right to change it at any phase of treatment. In the case of our patient makes a written request, his whole registration and records are to be transferred to his desired institution.

• The medical staff that are in charge in our institute or in our contracted health care providers, cannot perform a treatment that is against the medical ethics or deceptive-featured.

• Our patients have the right to obtain information related to our services about Preservative Medical Service as soon as they desired.

The Right to Obtain Respect and Dignity

• Our patients and patient relatives have the right to have a respectful, facilitative and optimist service.
• Our personnels does not have the right to argue with our patients.

Privacy Right

• Our patients have the right not to establish any dialogue with people who does not have any relation with his treatment program.
• Our patients have the right to demand a visual and aural private environment during their treatment.

The Right to Learn Identity

• Our patients have the right to learn any of our officer's identities and occupation responsibilities.

The Right to Obtain Information

• Our patients have the right to obtain information and a hardware copy of the documents related to his treatment progress.

Communication Right

• Our patients who has a language barrier with us, have the right to demand a translator during the treatment program.

The Right to Give Approval

• Our patients have the right to be informed in order to participate the deciding related to his diagnosis, treatment, risks and benefits and the alternatives, except of the legal necessities.
• Our patients has the right to approve that he had used this right, therefore in the direction of this approval, he is considered as he agreed with the process.
• It is possible to engage an intervention in urgent conditions without having the allowance of the patient.

The Right to Reject the Planned Treatmant

• In the case of rejecting the treatment program documentedly, our relation with the patient is ceased. The patient who previously rejected his treatment program and applies for our institution again, has the right to have the necessary treatment and nursling. Our personnels does not have the right to reproach or implicate the patient for this reason.

The Right to Understand the Rules and Application

• Our patients have the right to be informed about the institution rules and applications that is going to be applied to him as well. Our patients have the right to demand a correction for the bill records of the diagnosis and treatment applied to him, which if is incorrect.

The Right to Benefit from Religious Services

• Our patients have the right to apply his religious rituals within the frame of institution rules.
• Our patients have the right to use or wear any items and symbols related to his religion, provided that it is not preventing the treatment operations.

The Responsibilities of Patients and Patient Relatives

Edification Responsibility

• The patients are responsible of informing the institution fully correctly about his current complaints, his previously imposed diseases, previously applied treatments and the medications he used or using.

Compliance to Recommendations

• The patients are responsible of complianing the treatment plan recommended by the responsible doctors.

Rejecting the Planned Treatment

• The patients are in charge of the consequences occured because of the rejectment.

Diagnosis and Treatment Expenses

• The patients are responsible of informing the institution about the supplement for the treatment expenses.
• The patients are responsible of supplying the expenses in the meantime the institution asked for.

The Rules and Applications of The Institute

• The patients are responsbile of complianing the rules and applications of the institution.
• The patients are responsible of complaining the smoking rules.

Showing Respect

• The patients are responsible of paying attention for other's rights.

Inappropriate Request

• The patients should not request for medications or treatments that are not present in his treatment program and cannot request for euthanasia.

Compensation Obligation

• The faulty usage from the patients or intentional damage to the stock or consumables of the institution are compensated from the patient.
